The Cleveland Heights High School Alumni Foundation, established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 2001, evolved from the creation of the Cleveland Heights High School Alumni Association. The Cleveland Heights-University Heights Board of Education founded the Alumni Association in 1995 to create awareness and interest in the achievements of Cleveland Heights High School students, alumni, and the community.

The mission of the Cleveland Heights High School Alumni Foundation is to raise funds for the creation of an endowment fund and distribute the interest from the endowment to fund student scholarships and worthwhile academic projects.
As a result of budget cuts within the Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District in 2004, the Alumni Association merged with the Alumni Foundation. With this merger the Alumni Foundation took on the Association's responsibilities for maintaining the alumni directory, assisting classes with their reunions, cataloging and storing of archival Heights memorabilia, and publishing the Alumni Newsletter.
It is the goal of the Foundation to provide Cleveland Heights High School with programs and opportunities that are above and beyond what the current tax burden provides. All school systems wish they had unlimited funds to draw from. Since this is not realistic, school systems in Ohio are forced to rely on local property taxes and state aid.

Local property taxes that go to the schools are fixed and only increase when voted on. Further, a community like CH-UH has little commercial property and no industrial base, causing the majority of the tax burden to fall upon the individual homeowner. The amount of aid received from the State can always change, more times than not to the detriment of CH-UH.
The Foundation seeks to fund and support programs that go above and beyond what tax dollars provide. We are able to seek out revenue sources that may not be available through normal channels. Further, we are able to allow the 50,000+ graduates of Cleveland Heights High an opportunity to give back to their alma mater in whatever manner they want. From funding grants in a specific area of interest, to awarding students scholarships to attend universities that they otherwise could not afford, the Foundation is here to provide those who were a part of the first 75 years of Heights High's success the opportunity to be a part of the next 75 years of success.
